Last Thursday, February 27th, was the 100th day of school. First graders at Tangier Smith Elementary enthusiastically awaited the big day that was postponed 4 times due to snow storms!
The day was celebrated by wearing outfits that highlighted 100 items. There were outfits with 100 pom-poms, shirts with 100 puzzle pieces attached to them, and even an outfit with 100 lipstick kisses.
The first graders also made projects with 100 items on them and graphed and ate 100 snacks (10 pieces of 10 yummy things-M&M’s, fruit loops, etc.). The day was ended by discussing 100 reasons why the students love first grade. A fantastic time was had by all.
