And the winner is. . .

On Saturday, September 8th, 487 people participated in the 12th Annual 5K run for Literacy at Smith Point County Park. The historic Smith Point Bridge is the focal point of the run set in Shirley, New York.  It offers panoramic ocean vistas of Long Island’s magnificent national seashore.

The Community Family Literacy Project, Inc., a non-profit organization, awards an annual college scholarship to a deserving William Floyd High School senior.  The remainder of the proceeds from the Smith Point Bridge 5K Run support community-based literacy programs for children and families that are served by the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library.  These programs enrich lives, build a stronger community and, in some cases, make dreams come true.
