Two William Floyd High School student-athletes – Nigel Green and Trevor Wilkins – put on a clinic this past weekend at the Section XI Track and Field Championships/State Qualifier in Port Jefferson with Green winning the 100m and 200m events and Trevor Wilkins winning the triple jump. Green, already a record holder for the fastest 55m in William Floyd history (6.52 seconds), broke another school record with a time of 21.44 seconds in the 200m. Wilkins was just three inches shy of setting a school record of his own in the triple jump with a mark of 45’7”. Their superior performances qualified them to compete this weekend in the State Finals at Union-Endicott High School in Endicott, NY, just outside of Binghamton. Coach Ed Noll described both student-athletes as among the best in their events in New York State. Good luck to both student athletes!
