Floyd alumna visits Paca students

Carolina Fuentes, a 2015 William Floyd High School graduate (top 12 in her class) and current sophomore at George Washington University (GWU) in Washington D.C., recently paid a visit to William Paca Middle School English as a New Language (ENL) students in an effort to encourage the students and show them an example of a local success story.

During the presentation which was delivered in Spanish, Carolina shared her story of how she came to America from El Salvador in the third grade and eventually moved to the William Floyd community during seventh grade, when she began attending William Paca Middle School. She also shared some of the goals that she set for herself such as graduating high school, applying and gaining acceptance to college and seeking out scholarships and other financial aid opportunities.

Carolina is currently majoring in international affairs at GWU and hopes to one day pursue a career as a Foreign Service Office for the U.S. Department of State.
