Free job readiness program announced for Brookhaven job hunters

Free training classes will teach essential skills for landing a job

Supervisor Ed Romaine and the Brookhaven Division of Economic Development have announced the Job Readiness Program, a series of three classes designed to help job seekers get a competitive edge in the job market. The three-hour classes will be held in the first-floor conference room at Brookhaven Town Hall beginning on May 23, May 30 and June 6 at 5:30 pm. The classes will be taught by John Coverdale, president of The Center for Workplace Solutions, Inc., of Bayport. Mr. Coverdale is a senior level, high-impact business management executive proficient in human resource management, labor and employee relations, higher education, and organizational consulting.

“People who are looking for a job or considering a career change need to use every advantage to move ahead in the workforce,” said Supervisor Romaine. “I commend our Division of Economic Development for offering residents the opportunity to hone their skills and build confidence so they can get back on the road to success.”

The Job Readiness Program is for Brookhaven residents only. Space is limited. Registration is currently open with preference given to veterans. To register, call 631-451-6563.
