Man charged in Shirley robbery of Chase Bank, cops say

Suffolk County Police today arrested Taylor Munoz, 23, of Shirley, for robbing the Chase Bank located on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley on December 14. Major Case Unit detectives charged Munoz with Robbery 3rd degree.

Munoz will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on December 20.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Original Release: Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Shirley bank today.

A man entered Chase Bank located at William Floyd Parkway, at approximately 4:10 p.m. and passed the teller a note that demanded money. The teller complied with the man’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The suspect fled the bank on foot and was last seen heading south through the parking lot.

The man was described as white, in his 20s, between 5 feet 8 inches tall and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark hooded-sweatshirt, dark jeans and sunglasses.
