Seventh Precinct Police responded to Bogota Road at 4:10 a.m. Thursday morning after a 911 call reported that a man had been shot.
The caller reported that the victim was having difficulty breathing and told police two assailants had fled the scene on foot. Police said a canine unit was notified. The condition of the victim was not immediately available.
Police said details are still emerging and that the case remains under investigation.
Seventh Precinct police officers were called to 36 Bogota Road in Mastic Beach after Odibor Agbimson was shot in front of his home. Agbimson had been fighting with two men who broke down his front door and entered the house. The two men fled before officers arrived.
Agbimson was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center where he died.

The Suffolk County Police Department confirms that the male victim who was shot outside of his home on Bogota Road in Mastic Beach has died as a result of a fatal gunshot wound. Police state that this was a result of a random burglary. The assailants fled the scene. Homicide detectives are continuing further investigation.
