Mastic Beach man charged with animal cruelty

On November 26th, 2017, Suffolk County SPCA Detectives charged a Mastic Beach man with cruelty to animals.

Brian Hills, 41, was charged with animal cruelty, a misdemeanor. After an investigation, it was alleged that Hills repeatedly shocked his 2-year-old male Doberman with a shock collar causing the dog to scream in pain.

Hills has been ordered to appear in  First District Court in Central Islip on February 1st, 2018 to face charges of animal cruelty. The misdemeanor offense could lead up to a $1,000 fine and/or up to one year in prison.
