National Night Out brings together SCPD and community

On Aug. 6, hundreds of residents came to the annual National Night Out at William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach. This free event promotes police-community relationships and neighborhood camaraderie. It encourages adults and children to interact with members of law enforcement to help create a true sense of community. Attendees joined in to play games, win prizes and interacted with vendors, organizations and members of the Suffolk County Police Department, firefighters and first responders. “National Night Out is one of my favorite events in the town,” Romaine said. “It gives people the opportunity to get up-close and personal with law enforcement in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.”
