Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Wohseepee Park returns

The annual Easter Egg Hunt at Wohseepee Park in Brightwaters is once again right around the corner.

Hop on down to the scenic park for the free egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, at 3 p.m. With the egg hunt being hosted the day before Easter, the whole family can enjoy the event and get into the Easter spirit, without impeding on the cherished and sacred family celebrations on Easter Sunday.

The annual egg hunt has an impressive turnout each year, as Wohseepee Park is the perfect location for kids to race around, searching for eggs hidden in plain sight and in the nooks and crannies at the feet of the trees.

The event is sponsored by The Bay Shore Lions Club and the Village of Brightwaters. The Bay Shore Lions Club has worked diligently for the community to help create a better Bay Shore since its establishment in 1931 by sponsoring charity fundraising events to benefit many local organizations.

The Easter Egg Hunt will be especially exciting this year as the Brightwaters Art Council will have an area for kids to color and decorate their own Easter egg coloring pages.

“We look forward to this opportunity for children to have a creative experience along with the Easter Egg Hunt,” shared president of the Brightwaters Art Council, Danielle Livoti. “Coloring is a wonderful way for kids to express themselves, and we love to see their talents!”

The children will be separated into two groups for two separate egg hunts, allowing every child a fair chance to collect as many eggs as possible. Children ages 3 and under will participate in the first group at 3 p.m., while children ages 4 and older will have their own egg hunt at 3:15 p.m.

The Easter Egg Hunt is truly the perfect outdoor activity for the whole family to enjoy as we all welcome spring, warmer weather, and of course, the Easter bunny.
