At Painter’s on April 12, someone pried open a window and stole a toiletry bag.

Medford

Amanda Wildman, 28, of Mastic, was arrested on four counts of petit larceny for stealing clothing and baby merchandise from Target in Medford on April 11 and Target in Sayville on April 5 and 9.

Someone broke the lock on a basement window to a home on Boston Avenue and stole money.

East Patchogue

A wallet was stolen from a shopping cart at Dollar Tree on April 11.

At a home being built on Frost Valley Drive, someone came in through an unlocked door and damaged interior walls on April 12.

A purse was stolen from a cart at Shop Rite on April 14.

Patchogue

Katherine Torres, 27, of Patchogue, was arrested for using the banking information of St. Paul’s Church on Rider Avenue to pay bills on Feb. 15 and March 6.

North Patchogue

Power tools were stolen from a utility truck parked at Public Storage on April 13.

Shirley

William Stepanowski, 40, of Shirley, was arrested for entering a tool shed on West End Avenue on April 10 and stealing a leaf blower, grass trimmer, and chainsaw.

On April 11, a window was broken on a 2000 Toyota parked at Burger King and a wallet was stolen.

A tire was slashed on a 2010 Chevrolet parked on Lexington Road on April 13.

Man shot in Medford

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Medford early Monday morning.

Rondell Blue was sitting in a parked car in the driveway of his residence, located at 104 Wilson Ave., when an unidentified man approached the vehicle on foot and fired one shot, striking Blue in the jaw. Blue exited the car and went inside the residence. The suspect got into a nearby vehicle and fled the scene.

Blue, 27, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious but nonlife-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

Man arrested for church burglaries

Suffolk County Police arrested a Shirley man for multiple church burglaries that have occurred in Shirley and Bellport since February.

As a result of recent church burglaries, Seventh Squad Special Operations Team detectives and a Field Intelligence detective were conducting surveillance in Shirley when they encountered a man who was in possession of heroin. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the man, William Stepnowski, committed the following church burglaries:

• Saint John the Theologian Orthodox Church, located at 158 West End Ave. in Shirley, on Feb. 24 at 1:30 a.m.
• Assembly of God Church, located at 27 McGraw St. in Shirley, on March 4 at 1:45 a.m.
• Assembly of God Church, located at 27 McGraw St. in Shirley, on March 7 at 1:45 a.m.
• Saint John the Theologian Orthodox Church, located at 158 West End Ave. in Shirley, on March 9 at 9 p.m.
• Christ Episcopal Church, located at 64 South Country Road in Bellport, between March 19 at 6 p.m. and March 20 at 9:30 a.m.
• Saint John the Theologian Orthodox Church, located at 158 West End Ave. in Shirley, on April 7 at 1:45 a.m.

Stepnowski, 40, of Shirley, was charged with six counts of burglary 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree and he was charged with an outstanding warrant. He was held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and was scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on April 12.
