Harbor Freight opens in Shirley

Posted

Last week, councilman Dan Panico welcomed Harbor Freight Tools to the Shirley community, holding a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

“The new business is going extremely well in talking to the managers and employees. A lot of credit to Damianos Realty for investing in the center they purchased a couple of years ago and working to improve it, with Legis. Jim Mazzarella,” Panico said.

The store fills the long-vacant former Staples, located at 855 Montauk Highway in Shirley. Harbor Freight Tools signed the lease for the occupancy earlier this year, making the center 100 percent occupied once again.
“It has been a pleasure to work with the principles of Damianos Realty Group, which purchased that property and invested in it. We worked together to get their permit and approvals necessary for the Aldi construction, and here they are now taking the long-vacant center building and bringing in Harbor Freight Tools,” he said. “That entire shopping center has gone from almost 100 percent vacant to what will be almost 100 percent full.”
