Local fire department election results

Area fire departments held elections on Tuesday, Dec.12. Here are the results:

Bellport

Elected new comer John Mehrkens with 79 votes to incumbent Paul Newman’s 42 votes for a five-year term.

Blue Point

Eric Ferraro, who ran unopposed, earned 60 votes for a five-year term.

Brookhaven

Lawrence Archer, who ran unopposed, earned 27 votes for a five-year term. Also, the department passed a proposition to create a capital account for purchase of radio communications equipment with 24 yes votes to three no.

Hagerman

Ralph Lettieri Jr. was elected to a two-year term with 285 votes to Eric Kaufer’s 111 votes and Pete Piretti’s 36 votes. Also, Ralph Stephani Jr. was elected to a five-year term with 266 votes to incumbent Carl Forgione’s 169 votes.

Mastic

Incumbent Patrick, who ran unopposed, was re-elected to a five-year term with 44 votes out of 48 cast. The proposition also passed for the sale of a 2004 Spartan fire engine with 45 yes votes to three no votes.

Mastic Beach

Incumbent Walter Greene ran unopposed and was re-elected for a five-year term.

Medford

Incumbent Norman J. Melcher, ran unopposed for a five-year term, and was re-elected with 37 votes. Michael Barry received one vote and there were four voided votes.

Patchogue

Gregory Lagarenne, who ran unopposed for a four-year term, was elected with 238 votes. Also, incumbent Terry Johnson was re-elected to a five-year term with 170 votes to Diane Poulos’s 149 votes.
