Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found with a gunshot wound after crashing his vehicle.
Daniel Johnston was driving a 2021 Chevrolet southbound in the northbound lanes of William Floyd Parkway when his vehicle struck a pole and fence at approximately 8 p.m. on August 2. When first responders arrived, they discovered Johnston had a gunshot wound to his leg.
Johnston, 32, of Shirley, was transported by Mastic Beach Ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
