Spring-cleaning in Brookhaven

Posted

Brookhaven residents took to the streets on Saturday — sun shining, rakes in one hand and bags in the other. The town took part in the Great American Cleanup, where towns across the country volunteer to clean up streets, parks, waterways and more in their community. From Corey Beach to the Terrell River, volunteers donning neon green stepped up to help the community.

East Patchogue (1)

The Miramar Beach Civic Association cleaned up the St. Joseph the Worker parish area, including the community garden, with help from supervisor Ed Romaine.

North Bellport (2)

The Miramar Beach Civic also helped, along with students from the Bellport High School football team, to clean up their corner on Station Road.

Mastic, Mastic Beach and Shirley (3)

Members of the ESL program at the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library went into the community during the cleanup, with some help from councilman Dan Panico.
