Sunderman sworn in for second term

Suffolk County Legislator Rudy Sunderman took the oath of office for his second term as representative for the Third District on Thursday, January 2, during the Legislature’s Organizational Meeting.

“I would like to thank the residents of the Third Legislative District for putting their faith in me to represent them in the Suffolk County Legislature for another term,” Sunderman said. “My number one priority will always be to serve the residents of my district and work to improve the quality of life throughout the Third Legislative District and all of Suffolk County.”

The Third legislative District is located within the Town of Brookhaven and includes the hamlets of Mastic, Mastic Beach, Shirley, Bellport, Brookhaven, Yaphank, and Moriches. The district also includes parts of Middle Island, Ridge, Center Moriches, Medford, and Manorville.

For the 2020 Legislative Year, Sunderman will serve on the Fire, Rescue, EMS and Emergency Preparedness Committee, the Public Safety Committee, the Ways and Means Committee, and the Health Committee.
