Student musicians represent District at NYSSMA All-State Conference

This past weekend, five William Floyd High School student-musicians represented their district at the annual New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Winter Conference in Rochester, NY.

The students, selected among the top high school musicians in all of New York State, had the opportunity to perform with students of equally high caliber from across the state, as well as the opportunity to perform with some of the most recognized conductors in the country. Congratulations to Sarah Gross (treble chorus), Zachary Neikens (symphonic orchestra), Elizabeth Scianno (mixed chorus), Albert Wheeler (mixed chorus) and Justin Wheeler (symphonic band).

“Being selected to NYSSMA All-State is a testament to the hard work, dedication and skill level of these five talented student-musicians,” said George Ober, chairperson, William Floyd Music Department. “I would like to congratulate the students, their teachers, Michael Cordaro, Barbara D’Orio and the entire William Floyd music staff who have been instrumental in helping them achieve this high level of performance.”
