William Floyd Middle School students seed the Shinnecock Bay with clams.

The students helped seed the bay with more than 13,000 clams, which filter nitrates from the water column to help stem algae bloom and brown tide. “The seeding helped restock many of the clams which have been decimated due to pollution and overharvesting,” said Mr. DiDomenico.
