Town releases tick-eating quail

On Aug. 2, Supervisor Ed Romaine and the town board released 40 bobwhite quail into the wild at Brookhaven Town Hall. The bird release is a program sponsored by the town and the Seatuck Environmental Association. The birds are released to help control the tick population, especially deer ticks, which are carriers of Lyme disease. To learn more about Seatuck Environmental Association, visit www.seatuck.org.
