William Floyd Alumni Association Honors Outstanding Educators

The William Floyd Alumni Association recently paid tribute to four exceptional instructors at its annual Outstanding Educators Award Dinner. Held at the Rock Hill Golf & Country Club in Manorville on October 22, the association thanked teachers Michael Cordaro, Donna Gaspari, Paul Longo and Marge Sabbeth before a crowd of friends, family and fellow professionals.

This is the third year that the Alumni Association has selected exceptional role models from among current and retired teachers to honor for the contributions they have made to the student body over the course of their careers.

“Events such as this are significant in our district because they let the faculty know how they’ve touched the lives of their students. Young students may not always know how to express their gratitude or may not even realize how much they’ve gained from a teacher until many years later. That’s why this event is so moving. It lets our teachers realize the impact they’ve made,” said Jon J. Geraci, Sr., President of the William Floyd Alumni Association.

This year’s award recipients and their area of expertise include:

·         Michael Cordaro, Instrumental Music Teacher

·         Donna Gaspari, Retired High School English Teacher

·         Paul Longo, Middle School Guidance Counselor and Varsity Football Coach

·         Marge Sabbeth, Retired Elementary School Teacher
