Writers Needed

Writers in the Tri Hamlet area are needed for our new online community newspaper.

Do you want to make a valuable contribution to our community and to the lives of others living here?  Do you feel like you have stories to tell about your neighborhood?  Tri Hamlet News is looking for correspondents to represent Shirley and the Mastics.  You do not have to be a professional writer, but you must be passionate about your subject.   Writers can be any age and we are inviting student writers from the schools.  This is a voluntary position which you will receive a byline with your submission.   Only those who love what they do and are passionate about what they do are qualified.

Areas of interest are local news, human interest stories, non-profit news, school news, sports news, real estate news, health issues, senior citizen news, events calendar, opinions, specialty news (equestrian, dog, boating, swimming, hiking, etc.), photographs and much more.

Do you own a successful business in the Tri Hamlet area and can you share your knowledge and experience with others?   We would like to talk to you.

Send us a message at info@trihamletnews.com and tell us about your experience and interests.

  1. I’m currently a 10th grader at William Floyd High School and ever since I started writing essays in school, my grandmother has complimented them. In 6th grade, my English teacher had told me that I should pursue a career in writing. At that time, I didn’t have much of an interest, nor did I have enough confidence to go out there and write. When I write, I feel like all of my troubles are slowly drifting away. With every sentence I write, the tension in my life seems to ease. I have a passion for writing and hope to pursue it one day in the future. Most people I know love the advice I give, the persuasion I add, the evidence I provide… All in all, the pieces I create. I would love to volunteer and write for you guys. Hopefully the pieces I provide will leave my readers wanting more.
    Thank you.
