The Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library will continue its growing series of artist showcases with an Artist Showcase Reception this Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library’s main building in Shirley.
The public is invited to meet local artists, view a diverse collection of artworks currently on display at both the Library’s Shirley and Moriches locations, and enjoy light refreshments. Participating artists will be on hand to discuss their work and creative process.
The reception reflects the library’s ongoing commitment to highlighting the extraordinary depth of artistic talent found throughout the Mastics, Moriches, and Shirley communities, providing local artists with opportunities to share their work with neighbors and visitors in a welcoming public setting.
“Our communities are home to an incredible range of artistic talent, much of which people may not realize exists right here in the tri-hamlet area,” said Lonna Castro, director of the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library. “Programs like this allow us to celebrate that creativity while offering artists a meaningful venue to share their work with the public.”
Maura Feeney, who coordinates the library’s artist showcases and special cultural programs, said the reception offers visitors an opportunity to experience a wide variety of artistic styles and perspectives. “We’re excited to bring together artists working in many different mediums, from photography and watercolor to quilting, jewelry, and digital art,” Feeney said. “Meeting the artists and hearing about their inspiration adds another layer to the experience and makes the artwork even more meaningful.”
The showcase will feature artwork from the following local artists and creators:
Artwork will be displayed at both the Main Library, located at 407 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley, and the Moriches branch, located at 201 Montauk Highway in Moriches, allowing visitors to explore a variety of exhibits at both locations throughout May and June.
