The FBI has confirmed that human remains found at Carlton Reserve and Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park are Brian Laundrie's.
In a press release, the FBI said a comparison of dental records confirmed the identity.
At a 4:30 p.m. press conference Special Agent Michael McPherson of the FBI's Tampa Division said that authorites have found what appears to be human remains at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in North Port, Florida.
The area in which the remains were found was underwater until recently. Items belonging to Brian Laundrie were also found at the site inlcuding a backpack and notebook.
The Blue Point native has been missing for weeks and is the sole person of interest in the murder of Gabrielle Petito.

A cadaver dog and a medical examiner have been called to the scene according to North Port, Florida police.
