Silvana Aloisio of Bohemia has been named the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce’s new executive director.
Aloisio will now take the place of longtime and beloved executive director David Kennedy, who has moved on to fill retired Dennis Smith’s Business Improvement District executive director seat with the Village of Patchogue.
Both Aloisio and Kennedy will fill their new positions officially as of this October.
“We are thrilled to have Silvana,” said chamber president Jo Bennet. “There are lots of transitions and changes going on and it’s all for the better. We’re sad to see David go, but he is not going very far. And we welcome Silvana with open arms because she has a lot of ideas and energy that is sure to kick off the next 100 years in Patchogue!”
Kennedy promised that in filling his new roles, he will continue to provide the same support and guidance to the new chamber executive as Smith has provided him during his tenure, ensuring a seamless transition.
About the new executive director
Aloisio grew up in Bohemia and is from a large Italian family raised by her grandmother and surrounded by cousins, aunts and uncles. As a first-generation American, she said, she wants to be a part of the chamber due to her family always teaching her to support and treasure all her relationships.
“I’m thrilled to join the chamber of commerce and follow in David’s footsteps!” she said. “This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with Patchogue’s local businesses and make a real impact. I’m excited to bring fresh ideas and energy to the team, continue David’s great work, and help drive our community forward.”
The role, she explains, perfectly aligns with her passion for supporting local enterprises.
“I can’t wait to get started!” she added.
Aloisio comes from her position as the franchise relations coordinator at Matto Espresso, where she managed communications and analyzed financial reports for the New York-based company.
Prior to that, she was the concierge client support specialists for IFG International and the executive assistant at Rosen Partners, LLC, as well as a legal assistant and paralegal, executive administrative assistant for Precision Eye Care and a surgical coordinator for SightMD.
She is a certified paralegal through Stony Brook University and a Suffolk County Community College and a Connetquot High School graduate. She is fluent in both English and Italian.
