After some contemplation, the owner of the Cheese Patch, located on Main Street in Patchogue Village, recently announced it will be closing their brick-and-mortar storefront.
“It’s hard to believe that it’s been well over a decade since l opened my little store within a store on North Ocean Avenue before moving to our home on Main Street,” owner Paige Pfeifer said in her social media announcement. “This was one of the hardest decisions l’ve ever had to make in my life, because I truly cherish serving my community, making people feel welcome, and sharing my love of cheese and wine. I could not be more grateful for all of the loving, wonderful people I have had the pleasure of meeting.”
While the physical storefront has closed, she assured the community that her business will continue to live online.
The location, she said, will also now become Main Street Apothecary.
