The temperature was in the mid-30s, but that didn’t keep hundreds of people from turning out for the Village of Patchogue Christmas parade on Saturday night.
From grandparents to kids in strollers, they lined both sides of Main Street to cheer on the marchers, performers and bands, including the Patchogue-Medford Raiders Marching Band.
This was the 62nd year for the parade, which is one of the highlights of the holiday season. This year’s theme was “A Musical Christmas on Main Street.”
Patchogue’s seasonal festivities continue Dec. 14 and 15 with the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce’s first-ever “It’s a Wonderful Life” event. Performers will reenact classic scenes from the movie at various locations in downtown Patchogue.
