The Community Garden in East Patchogue is an organic garden where members may grow their vegetables to feed themselves and their families. They have areas of perennial plants, such as asparagus, berries, and other edible plants for members to harvest. Everyone is welcome; they only ask that members help with the maintenance of the entire garden, participate in work days, donate money to the church for the water, and respect fellow gardeners’ plots. Anyone interested in signing up with the garden may come to their first meeting on Saturday, April 29 at 10 a.m., in the church basement. Members will be asked to sign a commitment form. For more information contact the Outreach Office at the church at 631-286-6356 and leave a message.
