No opening date has been determined yet for Dunkin’ Donuts on Montauk Highway and Blue Point Avenue in Blue Point, but constructions crews have put on the company logo to the former Chase bank drive-thru this past week.

According to proprietor, Gobind “Ben” Bathija, “There is no fixed date for when we will open, but depending upon weather, the site work and landscaping will continue.  Upon completion, we expect an inspection.”

Blue Point Civic Association president Jason Borowksi said, “Ben has been very proactive about keeping us informed of his progress, which we appreciate. We know that he has been dealing with weather delays affecting the being able to do the site work, so we understand he is doing the best he can. We fully anticipate he will be open shortly.”

Echoing Borowski’s sentiments, Bayport Blue Point Chamber president, Karl Auwaerter said, “Like fine wine, things take time...the Chamber is excited to see the finished project and to welcome Dunkin to their new location.”
