Dates announced for Alive by the Bay

Highly anticipated summer street festival

Bay Shore’s block party-style street fair series, Alive by the Bay, is beginning its comeback for summer later this month. Held on Main Street in downtown Bay Shore, Alive by the Bay features local restaurants, vendors, live music, arts and crafts, craft beer, and fun events for the whole family.

Come see what Bay Shore’s downtown has to offer from 5 to 9 p.m. during the following Alive by the Bay dates: June 25; July 9; July 23; Aug. 13; and Aug. 20. Pay-to-park parking meters will suspended during the festivals.

The Alive by the Bay festival is hosted annually by the Bay Shore Restaurant Committee, a group made up of the most-loved local restaurants with the most talented and innovative chefs, restaurateurs, and foodies in Bay Shore. During the block party-style festivals, attendees often stop by their favorite restaurants and discover new ones they have never noticed, which quickly turn into fast favorites.

“We really are trying to keep our consistency up, because I think that is what sets our festivals apart,” shared interim director of the Bay Shore Restaurant Committee, Mike Ryan. “We have great vendors and great music, and entertainment is always there. Last year was a big success for us, and we are hoping to keep building off that, because they seem to be getting better every year.”

A new change to the popular street festivals is the addition of a fifth night. While last year’s Alive by the Bay series was wildly successful, one of the events got rained out last year. Instead of hosting four festivals with a rain date like previous years, this year, a fifth date was added with no rain dates, making up for the lost event last year and providing the Greater Bay Shore community with even more excitement.

Whether you attend for the food, love music, or family activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Alive by the Bay.
