With summer around the corner, local concerts are just starting to heat up. On June 8, come together with the greater East Islip community for a one night only concert hosted by the East Islip Community Chamber of Commerce: East Islip State of Mind.

At 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, Long Island’s premier Billy Joel/Elton John tribute band, Face 2 Face, will be gracing the lawn of the American Legion Hall, located at 3 Bayview Avenue. Face 2 Face brings the magic of Elton John and Billy Joel’s music to life, recreating the nostalgic experience of witnessing the legendary artists perform live. Frontmen Mike Santoro and Ronnie Smith have captivated audiences nationwide, entertaining tens of thousands across the country.

The East Islip Community Chamber of Commerce organized the event as an opportunity for neighbors to come together and mingle while enjoying an exciting, live musical performance. The event was funded through a $15,000 Suffolk County Omnibus Grant.

“[The Omnibus Grant] is given to civic organizations to help bring the arts, and local talent to communities,” shared chamber president Gary Teich. “It’s a win for our town. It’s great to see the way  this works. Legis. Bergin, her staff, and the county have been very supportive.”

“It is a nice way of getting the community together and getting musical groups here, so I am happy to be able to extend that to you folks, from the county,” shared Suffolk County Legis. Trish Bergin, during the March East Islip Community Chamber of Commerce meeting. “It is your tax money, and we appreciate being able to give it back in a way that embraces arts, culture, music, and community.”

Mark your calendars and join the chamber, your neighbors, and Face 2 Face at the free concert on June 8th!
