Fire districts throughout the Town of Islip will hold their annual elections on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 3 to 9 p.m. The candidates in each fire district who receive the most votes will be elected fire commissioner for that district. They will remain in that position for a five-year term. Only those registered with the Suffolk County Board of Elections before the 22nd day before the fire district’s election are eligible to vote.
Bay Shore
Current commissioner Gregory Nardone is the incumbent and is running for reelection unopposed.
East Islip
Current commissioner John J Crowley, whose five-year term has ended, is running unopposed for reelection.
Islip
Current commissioner Phil Dinnen is the incumbent and is running unopposed for reelection.
West Islip
West Islip Fire Department has one seat open for a five-year term. Mark Dehos is the incumbent and is running unopposed.
