Floyd football dominates


A dominating second-half surge sent William Floyd passed Walt Whitman by a score of 37-13! The stout Colonial defense shutout Walt Whitman in the second half, while the rushing attack on offense found their stride and was full steam ahead. In front of a buzzing home crowd, the Colonials picked up their first win of the season as they begin their quest for another Suffolk County and Long Island championship. William Floyd’s next game will be at Sachem North on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m.

• Caden Lesiewicz had three interceptions on defense; on offense he had 65 yards rushing and two touchdowns and also kicked a 20-yard field goal.

• LaDuke Harris rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns.

• Aaron Fisher on defense: six tackles, a sack, and blocked an extra point.

• Conner Taphouse recorded three sacks.
