Located in the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic, the newly opened ‘Tiny’s Famous Eats’ specializes in comfort food and delicious sides.
Owner and chef Justin Edwards said owning and operating his own restaurant was something that he’s always been interested in doing and he finally “just decided to start it.”
‘Tiny’s opened on October 11, and so far Edwards said his chicken wings and shrimp have been hot sellers.
“I can’t keep chicken wings in stock,” Edwards said. “I’m always out of them.”
Edwards, 34, said the menu was inspired by the food his grandmother and mother taught him how to make.
“I’ve been cooking since I was seven years old in the kitchen with them, so [I] just watched them cook, and their recipes and their style of cooking,” Edwards said.
Prices at Tiny’s range from $3 for any of the sides including the candied yams which one customer noted were “to die for” up to $15 for bigger meals like the fried chicken wings and chicken and waffles. Customers can also buy fifty-piece buckets of the fried chicken wings and hot wings for $60.
In the mornings, Tiny’s also offers classic breakfast sandwiches until 11 a.m., complete with juice and a choice of meat and cheese for just $5.
