The Doo Wop Project plans to bring their unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts for a return appearance on Oct. 12.
The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning: tracing the evolution of doo-wop from the classic sound of five guys singing harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today.
Love the classic sounds of Frankie Valli, The Drifters, The Del Vikings? Ever wonder what Maroon 5 and Jason Mraz would sound like if they had lived in the doo-wop era? Then, meet The Doo Wop Project, a group of fantastically talented, charismatic and engaging Broadway stars from smash hit shows like “Jersey Boys,” “Motown: The Musical” and “A Bronx Tale.”
In their high-energy and crowd-pleasing live productions, The Doo Wop Project take audiences on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons all the way to “doo-wopified” versions of modern songs originally performed by mega-watt artists like Michael Jackson Amy Winehouse, even Garth Brooks.
