One of the most beloved holiday time activities is watching movies that revolve around the respective occasion. Halloween is no exception, as celebrating the holiday can include watching horror movies for those who crave candy as well as an adrenaline rush, or enjoying family-friendly titles that are nothing short of wholesome and heartwarming.
This year, a couple of classic Halloween films have been re-released in theaters so audiences can get the full film experience.
AMC Movie Theaters, Regal Cinemas, and Island 16 are all showing “Hocus Pocus” (1993) and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993) in the weeks leading up to Oct. 31. Additionally, AMC will be bringing back “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (2023) and “Coraline” (2009) to select theaters during Halloween week.
Catching a screening of any of these films could serve as the perfect Halloween-themed night out for friend groups and families, especially considering young ones would not have had the chance to see some of these titles in theaters upon their initial releases.
Of course, there are also a few recently released films that may be of interest to those who enjoy celebrating Halloween, such as “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “Speak No Evil,” “Joker: Folie à Deux,” “Terrifier 3,” and “Smile 2,” which have all been released within the past two months.
For those who are ahead of the movie game and are looking for something new to watch, the third installment of the “Venom” film franchise, “Venom: The Last Dance,” opens Friday, Oct. 25, with early fan screenings scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 24, at all the previously mentioned movie theaters in participation.
This year, there is an abundance of films available for screening no matter what your preference is when it comes to Halloween-themed films. You can choose from family-friendly, horror, psychological thriller, or even superhero-based movies.
If you are interested in attending any movie screenings this Halloween, you can visit your preferred theater’s website to browse showtimes and purchase tickets in advance.
