Colonials defeat Walt Whitman

William Floyd’s homecoming festivities kicked off on Friday, Oct. 25, with an energetic pep rally, followed by the homecoming dance.

Then, homecoming day began with the parade featuring numerous school and community participants, followed by the homecoming royalty crowning ceremony before the game.

The main event was the William Floyd Colonials taking on Walt Whitman before a capacity crowd, who witnessed the Colonials defeat Walt Whitman, 34-3!

The Colonials, led by head coach Paul Longo, put together a complete game as they fine-tuned their efforts for the upcoming playoffs. A.J. Cannet threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns and added a seven-yard touchdown run. Josh Jordan caught two passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

Ja’Quan Thomas ran the ball 16 times for 131 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown run. On the defensive side of the ball, Zamari Wilkins led the Colonials with five tackles (two for a loss) and a sack, while Aaron Fisher added five tackles of his own. Jake Rivera and Aiden Williams each added one sack apiece.
