The Brookhaven Great South Bay Lions Club donated backpacks, blankets, school supplies, and playground equipment to the Patchogue Early Head Start programs. Patchogue Early Head Start programs provide family-centered services for low-income families with very young children. These programs are designed to promote the development of the children, and to enable their parents to fulfill their roles as parents and to move toward self-sufficiency. Early Head Start centers provide 1,280 annual hours of classroom operations for 48 weeks. Secure parent-child attachment is key to children’s learning. EHS’s mission is to support parent-child relationships through continuity of care. Pictured are Nicklande Regis, Anne Marie Sarich, MaryAnn Nugent and Mary Pontieri.
