Fourteen-year-old Liam Stark of Moriches returned home safely on Wednesday, Oct. 22, after being missing for five days.
Liam’s mother, Christy Stark, said on Facebook that Liam had called her from a library in Manhattan to let her know where he was and tell her that he wanted to come home.
Christy Stark, online, thanked the countless people across Long Island who aided her family in searching for Liam and posted an update a few days later, saying that her family was able to enjoy time together during a family game night.
Liam Stark had gone missing on Friday, Oct. 17, around 7:10 a.m. after leaving William Floyd High School around the start of the school day. Liam’s family reported him missing after he failed to return home, and a search began of woods and streets across the South Shore until Christy Stark said Liam had been identified in New York City and called her on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
