Celebrating their second year in Medford, Parthenon Framing & Printing, previously located in Bohemia, has been framing locally and delivering around the world for over 50 years. The full-service, custom frame and print manufacturer provides quality framing for a wide range of artwork across the tri-state area, employing more than 20 people and contributing to the local economy.
George and Joan Bubaris took over the business back in 2015. George’s background in business, combined with Joan’s as a financial planner, make them ideal business partners. Originally located in Bohemia, they moved the business to a larger, 10,000-square-foot facility in Medford, on 15 Commercial Boulevard. The facility can accommodate large-scale commercial projects, as well as a single, cherished piece.
The showroom includes over 1,000 unique molding options that can be the perfect accent to any piece of art. Also, their knowledgeable staff, including an art consultant, is always on call to assist customers with color, finish, and technique at no additional cost.
Why custom frame a picture? According to Joan Bubaris, a picture frame can enhance and protect a treasured piece of art, while also fitting into a unique décor style as well.
Though the business is located in an industrial park, Parthenon is not just a commercial frame supplier. They also welcome clients to walk in, explore the gallery, and select a frame for a cherished piece of art or a family photo.
“After being in Bohemia for many years, we were happy to move to Medford and join the chamber,” Joan said. “We are excited to get even more involved with the community. We love when community members pop in to check out what we do.”
Towards the end of 2020, Parthenon launched its printing division, making them a one-stop shop for clients. The shop can print as well as provide photo editing, with several paper options including canvas.
Joan also plans to utilize the resources of Parthenon to contribute to local causes and the Long Island community at large. Parthenon recently launched a partnership with One Tree Planted©, a 501(c)3, a charity with the mission to help global reforestation efforts.
