Patchogue Theatre scheduled to reopen in September

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts will be officially reopening following a long pandemic shuttering on Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. with a performance by the Moon Dogs.

A Beatles tribute band, the Moon Dogs will be performing the “White Album.”

Many of this season’s shows have been rebooked from last season, with a long list of tribute bands that the theater has become known for, but theater director Michele Rizzo-Berg and newly named associate director Jodi Giambrone are looking to captivate the latent nostalgia and current enthusiasm of younger age groups with live bands from the ‘90s.

In one of the standout bookings, Toad the Wet Sprocket will be performing at the theater on Oct. 2.

“Michele is a really good booker; she maintained her relationships with bands and performers throughout the pandemic,” said Giambrone.

The plush seats, sparkling grand chandelier, superior acoustics, and sight lines all contribute to Giambrone and Rizzo-Berg’s vision of having a repertory of modern-day live acts to match the ambiance.

“The theater is a beautiful jewelry box, and we want to up the ante with the requisite gems,” said Giambrone.

With lively, engaging downtown Patchogue as a backdrop, Giambrone hopes that the new bookings will bring a younger, sleeker crowd from all over the tri-state area to the theater, with plenty of pre-show dinner options and after-show drink availability.
