Stormy weather may have been brewing outside, but inside Bay Shore’s Great South Bay Brewery, a Sunday full of pups and pints was in store for locals. Held on Sept. 27 from 12 to 4 p.m., the Islip Animal Shelter brought some of their friendly dogs to meet people at their Pints For Paws Shelter fundraiser and adoption event with the brewery.
Many attendees came to watch Sunday football while supporting a good cause. 50/50 raffles and raffle baskets full of goodies went specifically towards helping support shelter dogs. Despite the rain and lingering windy conditions, local residents came out in droves to support the adoption event and say hi to their playful pups.
A photography pop-up by Spoiled Bitch Dog Boutique gave attendees the opportunity to take cute shots with these adoptable pups. Pup fashion was also for sale in support of the shelter.
Live music was also provided by local band All She Wrote from 12 to 2 p.m. Playing a mix of ’80s, ’90s, and ’00s hits, the band had many folks jamming out to their favorite throwback tunes.
Playful husky Dash was eager to say hi to all the friendly faces. Pitbull Cookie’s approach was to lay on the ground for belly rubs, which all went according to plan. Pitbull Knox was just happy to share affection.
For those interested in the shelter’s adoptable pets, adoptable pet viewings are available at the Islip Animal Shelter from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers helped the adoption event go smoothly, and the shelter is always looking for more volunteers. Their website can be visited at islipny.gov.
