William Floyd High School varsity football defeated rival Longwood by a score of 21-0 and won Parkway Power Bowl XII. The victory is William Floyd’s eighth-straight in the Parkway Power Bowl series, and improves their lifetime Power Bowl record to a 10-2.
It was a dominant display of defense for the Colonials, as they allowed zero points and prevented the Lions from entering the red zone the entire game. The offense was sparked by a huge special teams’ blocked punt, setting up Caden Lesiewicz’s first of two rushing touchdowns in the game. Jason Pratt added a rushing touchdown of his own to put the finishing touches on a complete team win.
William Floyd, still undefeated at 5-0, is once again proving themselves to be the class of Suffolk County football, as they are the only Division I team left unbeaten.
Congratulations to head coach Paul Longo, his coaching staff, and the student-athletes for the great victory, and best of luck the rest of the season.
The Colonials return home for their next matchup against Sachem North on Saturday, Oct. 14 at noon.
