West Islip’s Class of 2024 top 10 academic leaders

Congratulations to the top 10 academic leaders in the West Islip High School Class of 2024! Through hard work and persistent dedication, the following students have earned a spot as one of the top students in the graduating class: (in alphabetical order) Aneliese Ammirata, Emerson Ammirata, Bukurie Bekteshi, Danielle Bodner, Angelo Cristadoro, Jake Guttman, Julia Kennedy, Tadhg O’Sullivan-Bakshi, Katherine Pokorney, and Daniel Von Thaden.

While West Islip High School does not name a valedictorian and salutatorian, Jake Guttman and Emerson Ammirata are recognized as the top two academic achievers of the Class of 2024. Jake Guttman plans to study advertising, public relations and strategic communication with a double major in psychology at High Point University. Emerson Ammirata plans to attend Union College and study pre-law.

Additionally, Aneliese Ammirata will attend Rutgers University; Bukurie Bekteshi will attend Binghamton University; Danielle Bodner will attend New York University; Angelo Cristadoro will attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; Julia Kennedy will attend Binghamton University; Tadhg O’Sullivan-Bakshi will attend University of South Carolina; Katherine Pokorney will attend Binghamton University; and Daniel Von Thaden will attend Stony Brook University.

As students in the West Islip High School Class of 2024 graduate on June 26, the top 10 students will toss their caps up with pride, knowing their success is only just beginning.
