Bellport football has won the regular season Division Championship with a 7-1 record. They were ranked No. 1 in the power ratings by Section XI and are seeded No. 1 for the playoffs.
The first playoff game was held last Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at Bellport vs. North Babylon. They won 49-32 and will now advance to the semi-finals at Bellport against Half Hollow Hills East this Saturday. Bellport went to the finals for the past two seasons and won last year.
“Very proud of the team, we lost a lot of players last year and gained a lot of younger and newer guys. We’re in a difficult division, which required a lot of hard work, sacrifice and commitment,” said coach Jaime Fabian.
Senior team leaders include: Donte Phillips, Jason Hunt, Justin Miles, Alex Brigadir, and Luis Rodriguez.
