Local fire departments have scheduled to take the big guy in red atop their trucks to visit the neighborhood children before the big day. See below for when he might visit a street near you:
BELLPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT
Candy Cane Santa Run, Sunday, Dec. 22
The Bellport Fire Department will be taking Santa for a tour of the community to hand out candy canes starting at 10 a.m. The department will bring Santa through all of its districts to visit families.
BROOKHAVEN FIRE DEPARTMENT
Santa will be making his way through Brookhaven Hamlet on Saturday, Dec. 21, starting at 9 a.m.
PATCHOGUE FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Patchogue Fire Department will bring Santa atop their trucks from Dec. 13 to Dec. 22. Sections are split at the Four Corners on Main Street. The southwest section will start on Dec. 21 and 22; the northwest section will be covered on Dec. 13 and 14; the northeast section will be covered on Dec. 16; and the southeast section on Dec. 19 and 20. Santa will make his way starting at dark each day. Dates or times might change due to weather, emergency calls, or other situations beyond the fire department’s control.
HAGERMAN FIRE DEPARTMENT
Santa will be with the Hagerman firefighters on Saturday, Dec. 21, with a 10 a.m. start.
MEDFORD FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Medford firefighters will have Santa on their trucks on Dec. 18, 19, and 10 starting at about 6:30 p.m. each night.
MASTIC FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters will take Santa out in the Mastic area on Sunday, Dec. 22 starting at 10 a.m.
MASTIC BEACH FIRE DEPARTMENT
Mastic Beach will start bringing Santa around Friday, Dec. 21 at night and Saturday Dec. 22 in the morning. Just listen for the trucks!
