The Town of Islip’s sixth annual SeaFest, held at the Bay Shore Marina on Sunday, Sept. 8 from noon to 6 p.m., was a huge success. Despite the fact the seafood festival was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7 and was postponed to Sunday due to weather, there was a huge turnout on the beautiful September day.
Attendees enjoyed the beauty of the Great South Bay while devouring the delicious cuisine it has to offer. Fan favorite Lucky 13 Oysters, a family-owned-and-operated business, dished out a constant rotation of genuine Blue Point oysters. Meanwhile, over at the popular Shrimp Shack booth, shrimp were served up every which way, much to the delight of seafood lovers.
Refreshing craft beer and tropical drinks flowed, handcrafted items and gifts were sold, cornhole and beach games were played, and kids enjoyed face painting, a family activity cove and pony rides. With autumn practically here, Seafest was the perfect conclusion to the summer festival season.
