Three Floyd musicians earn All-Eastern recognition

Posted

Three William Floyd High School student-musicians have earned All-Eastern recognition by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), an honor reserved for the best high school musicians spanning the eastern region of the United States.

The students, all senior choir members under the direction of Barbara D’Orio, will have the opportunity to perform as members of the All-Eastern Mixed Choir at the 2021 Eastern Division Virtual Conference in late April. Congratulations to Regan Kincaid, chorus, soprano; Ephrem Romao, chorus, tenor 1; and Briana Start, chorus, alto 1, on this tremendous accomplishment!

“Receiving an invitation to All-Eastern is a prestigious honor reserved for a select few students from the entire eastern region of the United States,” said George Ober, coordinator of music, William Floyd School District. “Having three students selected is a testament to the strength of our choral program and the entire William Floyd music department.”

For younger aspiring student-musicians, these talented high school performers attended William Floyd schools K-12.

Before William Floyd High School, Regan attended Tangier Smith Elementary School and William Paca Middle School; Ephrem attended William Floyd Elementary School and William Paca Middle School; and Briana attended Moriches Elementary School and William Floyd Middle School.
