Three-on-three Youth Basketball Challenge

Brookhaven Town councilman Dan will host a three-on-three Youth Basketball Challenge, to be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, 5 to 8 p.m., at the basketball courts at the Mastic Aquatic Center, located at 300 Mastic Beach Road in Mastic Beach.

Panico and his teammates will challenge area youth to a series of competitive three-on-three pickup games. His team includes former United States congressman Lee Zeldin, former WNBA superstar and Hall of Famer Sue Wicks, William Floyd school board member Kevin Meyer, Brookhaven Town deputy highway superintendent Steve Tricarico and others.

The event—co-sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau—is free of charge. Players will receive a complimentary T-shirt, while supplies last, while musical entertainment will be provided by JVC Broadcasting. Light refreshments will also be available, and prizes will be awarded to the winners of each game. Teams will be chosen at random on the evening of the event. No pre-registration is required.
