Town celebrates small businesses

The Town of Islip’s Economic Development department hosted a ceremony recognizing the importance of small businesses in our community and their ability to enrich the town’s cultural and economic landscape. While the event spotlighted businesses that had been nominated, town officials also took the opportunity to celebrate the broader impact of all small businesses and appreciate the overall effect and vibrancy each and every storefront adds to the town.

“Local businesses continue to shape our community, our town, and our lives, creating distinct landmarks and setting Islip apart,” said Islip Town supervisor Angie Carpenter. “Their dedication, resilience, and passion have created spaces that foster connection, culture, and community. We are proud to honor them for the vital role they play in making Islip such a special place to live, work, and visit.”

Among the businesses recognized for their long-standing service and community impact were Kleiber’s Country Store, Captain Bill’s Restaurant & Catering, J & C Productos Americanos, Café Joelle & The Greenery, The Pizzeria, and Peoples Arc of Suffolk, all of which have brought life and community to their spaces and continue to add a charm and uniqueness only they can provide to Islip residents.

Small businesses remain the backbone of our community. In Islip, they are not only central to our local economy, but also to the town’s identity and continued growth. The Town of Islip remains committed to creating an environment where small businesses can thrive.
