Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which a woman was critically injured while cutting down a tree in Shirley.
Tanya Pirro was on a ladder, cutting down a tree outside her residence, located on Carnation Drive, when the tree snapped and she fell off the ladder at 11 a.m.
Pirro, 44, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital via Suffolk County Police Helicopter with critical injuries.
